Steps
to housing at RSHP
If you are looking to be housed
at RSHP, here is a step by step guide to help you understand
the process you will have to go through.
1. Referral Forms: You
can apply either in person or by referral from another agency
such as REAP Resettlement Agency, No 5 or the Salvation Army.
(see 'Referral forms)
2. Appointment: Once
RSHP have received your form, you can phone up or come into
the office on a Monday at 10am to book an appointment for the
following Thursday.
3. Interview: You
will be interviewed at RSHP Offices by two members of RSHP Staff
on your given appointment time. The interview's purpose is to
discover whether you are suitable for RSHP Housing (see 'Who
do RSHP House').
4. References: Following
the interview, RSHP will look into the clients references, which
can take some time depending on how quickly they are returned
to RSHP.
5.
Selection: Once all the information is gathered
on a client, RSHP staff will meet to discuss each case.
6.
Outcome of Assesment: Once a decision is made
the client will be told if they have been accepted or not.
7.
Waiting List: If accepted, the client will
be placed on the waiting list until suitable RSHP accomadation
becomes available.

and council tax (other than in most self contained flats) are
paid for by RSHP and passed onto tenants in the rental charge.
Food is not provided.

Who
do RSHP house?
We
house single men and women aged 16 years and over (there is
no upper age limit). In some cases we can house couples without
children, however this is very limited accommodation and not
always ideal.
We
house people who live alone, and who are in need of housing
because:
•
they can't live in their current accommodation anymore
• they need supported accomadation
• they have nowhere to live.
We
house people who are able to live fairly independently and manage
basic living skills.
We
are able to house people who may need extra help because they
find it difficult to manage on their own.
We
are unable to house people who are not in need of support as
our service would not be appropriate – if you are not sure,
please ask a member of staff.
